(Senior) Python Data Engineer (m/f/d)

What work will you do?
As a Python Data Engineer at zeroG, you'll be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions that drive our business. You'll combine your strong Python programming skills with a solid understanding of software engineering principles to build and optimize data pipelines on cloud platforms (GCP and Azure). 
 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and implementing efficient data pipelines using Python
  • Building data models and structures to support business needs
  • Developing ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data
  • Conducting data analysis and quality checks
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-tested Python code adhering to software design principles
  • Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to deliver insights
  • Deploying and managing data solutions on GCP and Azure cloud platforms

What skills should you have?
We're looking for a data engineer with a strong foundation in Python programming and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices. To succeed in this role, you'll need: 
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering or software development
  • Proficiency in Python programming and data manipulation libraries
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Knowledge of software design principles and testing frameworks
The following skills and experience would also be an asset:
While not required, these skills can enhance your impact: 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark)
  • Python backend development experience (e.g. FastAPI)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP and Azure)
  • Understanding of cloud-native development and DevOps practices
  • Familiarity with the aviation industry

This role offers flexibility with a part-time option of 30-40 hours per week (75-100%). While remote work from Germany is generally possible, we value in-person collaboration and regular presence in our Frankfurt office for workshops, team meetings, and other events is expected.
