What work will you do?
As a Python Data Engineer at zeroG, you'll be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions that drive our business. You'll combine your strong Python programming skills with a solid understanding of software engineering principles to build and optimize data pipelines on cloud platforms (GCP and Azure).
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing efficient data pipelines using Python
- Building data models and structures to support business needs
- Developing ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data
- Conducting data analysis and quality checks
- Writing clean, efficient, and well-tested Python code adhering to software design principles
- Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to deliver insights
- Deploying and managing data solutions on GCP and Azure cloud platforms
What skills should you have?
We're looking for a data engineer with a strong foundation in Python programming and a solid understanding of software engineering best practices. To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or software development
- Proficiency in Python programming and data manipulation libraries
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Understanding of data warehousing and data lake concepts
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Knowledge of software design principles and testing frameworks

While not required, these skills can enhance your impact:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark)
- Python backend development experience (e.g. FastAPI)
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP and Azure)
- Understanding of cloud-native development and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with the aviation industry
This role offers flexibility with a part-time option of 30-40 hours per week (75-100%). While remote work from Germany is generally possible, we value in-person collaboration and regular presence in our Frankfurt office for workshops, team meetings, and other events is expected.
